Been MIA!

It seems I have been missing from my blog!
I have had so much happening!

In the lead up to my very first market it was a busy week of sewing and preparing! But I got everything ready at midnight the night before the market.

The market went very well. Little Lady Bug sold out of over half our stock that we took on the day. We did sell out of all our skirts on the day though!

I received quite a few custom orders on the day and then the week after the market. We are still completing custom orders from the market!

We have also made a start of our christmas collection. Four christmas dresses have been made, then onto christmas skirts and shorts!

Busy Preparing for the 1st Market!

Well we have about six weeks until our very first market! Exciting but nervous at the same time. Remember to check out Fairy Floss Markets for details!

All the "Candy Dresses" are finished. Now working on "Blossom". Hopefully will have "Blossom" finished by the end of this week. Then onto another dress(no name for it yet).

I didn't do much sewing of Candy or Blossom last week because I was working on a new dress. No name yet but very mod looking! I guess I should upload a photo for all to see! Welcome to some suggestions for a name??? Maybe we should make it a competition - will post competition details in a new post!!!

Two very different skirts!

It was a very cold & wet day in Melbourne so the best option was to do some sewing.

Two new designs. Peek-a-boo skirt(pattern from http://www.etsy.com/shop/littlelizardking ) & Tutu skirt, my own pattern.

First one was the tutu skirt. This was quite simple, I just used a standard skirt pattern and slowly added the soft tulle. The hardest part was deciding what colour tulle to use. Oh and the gathering is not the simplest thing to do either.
After an hour and half of tracing, measuring, cutting and sewing I finally finished.

Then it was time to work on the time consuming Peek-a-boo skirt. I think this took about five hours to make, a very long five hours. Things just weren't working. I have learnt from these issues and will make changes when I have the energy to attempt this skirt again. Although it does look nice. Now for the finished picture...

The making of a Fabric Headband!

Last night hubby was off to martial arts and my toddler was in bed.

I thought this would be a great time to work on my fabric headband! So I went to my work room, gathered some scrap fabric, cotton, needle, chalk pen, scissors and my flower template.

I then headed back to the warmth of the lounge room. It took some time drawing all the fabric shapes I needed but I got there. It took probably about an hour to draw and cut all the fabric.

Then it only took about 20 minutes to assemble and I love it. I added a nice rhinestone flower to the middle and it gives it that final touch it needed.

So please meet my Audrey fabric tutorial. Pattern by Snazzie Drawers - http://www.etsy.com/shop/Snazziedrawers

My neglected blog!

It has been some time since I visited my blog. I will do my best to come in weekly to update on the design side of Little Lady Bug!

Since my very first post Little Lady Bug has expanded. I still have the same little online shop (www.littleladybug.com.au) but I now make clothing and accessories!

At the moment I have spent a lot of my time sewing for Fairy Floss Markets. Little Lady Bug will be at both the October and December markets!

So I will leave you all with this and will be back later hopefully with some pictures of my gorgeous little dresses!
